Congress needs major surgery: K Muraleedharan
Speaking at an award distribution function here on Saturday, he lamented that the party had learned nothing from the defeat in local body polls.
KOZHIKODE: Senior Congress leader K. Muraleedharan lambasted the party leadership and said it was behaving as if its spine was broken now and a major surgery is inevitable to tide over the crisis. Speaking at an award distribution function here on Saturday, he lamented that the party had learned nothing from the defeat in local body polls.
“The defeat was so huge that an urgent surgery is inevitable. No one is interested in taking up the issues which were raised in Assembly. Senior leaders are reluctant to lead protests,” he said in the presence of Congress leaders V.D Satheeshan, T. Sidique and DCC president K.C Abu. Mr Muraleedharan said that even broomsticks were given a ticket for Assembly polls.
“No workers were available for election campaign even after remuneration was offered. I was short of graffiti writing in Vattiyoorkavu. A.K Antony had asked about this,” he continued. He said that the leadership should ponder over why the elected Congress MLAs were drastically short of majority which could have been got by just filing nomination and sitting at home.
