Hyderabad: Simmering differences between allies BJP and TD on Friday reached a flashpoint. It all began with TS TD working president A. Revanth Reddy saying that the Congress and BJP better close their units in the state. His comments earned him a sharp rebuke from the BJP.

“TD is a dead party in Telangana. Empty vessels make more noise. Revanth Reddy’s statement against the BJP is a sign of sheer frustration and desperation. He should first clarify if TD has merged with TRS or is it still alive in Telangana,” said BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao.

Mr Rao added, “BJP is the only alternative to the TRS in Telangana. Revanth Reddy must understand that he can’t revive a dead party.”

Earlier in the day, Mr Revanth Reddy had said, “Telangana Congress and BJP have become “tail” parties of the TRS. We don’t need a pro-government “Bhajan Party” in Telangana. It’s better they close down their units. Congress is totally paralysed, its every leader makes contradictory statements. One says Haritha Haram is a big scam, while another praises it. One praises GHMC’s Rs 5 meals, another criticises it.”

Meanwhile, BJPLP Floor leader G. Kishan Reddy accused the TRS government of failing to keep its promises made in GHMC elections like and alleged that GHMC funds were being misused.
