Bengaluru: Rivals of BJP state unit president B.S. Yeddyurappa have demanded modification of the state and district office bearers’ list, which was apparently announced by the Lingayat strongman without consulting core committee members.

At the core committee meeting held here on Tuesday,  senior BJP leaders K.S. Eshwarappa, Jagadish Shettar, Pralhad Joshi, D.V. Sadananda Gowda and C.T .Ravi  expressed their dissatisfaction over the unilateral decisions taken by Yeddyurappa while appointing district and state office bearers.

Sources close to Mr Eshwarappa told this newspaper that, Mr Yeddyurappa is ready for a reconciliation following the outburst from party cadre and the advice from RSS leaders.

The BJP chief reportedly assured the leaders that he would incorporate party cadre as office bearers of district committees. Since a procedural lapse had taken place in constituting the district and state committees, the core committee members demanded  reconstitution of the list.

Mr Yeddyurappa told them that he  would accommodate honest and loyal workers in the committees and also give them responsibilities, sources  close to Eshwarappa told this newspaper.

It was also decided that the Tiranga yatra would culminate in Mangaluru on August 21. BJP national President Amit Shah will attend the program. Rani Abbakka Samavesha has been organized to coincide with the culmination of the yatra.

The BJP National Council meeting will be held in Kozhikode from September 24-25. Responsibilities will be distributed among state workers to make the   meet a success.
