G. Sudhakaran, PWD Minister

Alappuzha: PWD Minister G. Sudhakaran has said that he had not  put a bar  on any minister who had been staying permanently in PWD rest houses.  He was responding to the reports that he had locked out room number 1 of the PWD rest house here which was reserved for Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac.

He said   he had received  many complaints that the common people did not get rooms in the rest house. “Nobody will be accommodated in the rest houses permanently.  Rooms will  be given to ministers when they arrive at the place. When they become vacant,  they will be given to the people,” he said.

Room No. 1 of the rest house here was reserved  for Mr Thomas Isaac, local MLA, for years as he owns no home in Alappuzha. Whenever he came to Alappuzha,  Mr  Isaac  chose to stay in the same room. When he  was out of station, the room was kept locked and was never given to the  public. Recently,  Mr Sudhakaran visited the rest house and ordered the authorities to give the room to the public when the minister was not there.
