Warangal: Telangana Udyamakarula Vedika (TUV) accused the BRS government of trying to destroy public education system, instead of strengthening it in the state.

Convenor of TUV Prof. K. Venkat Narayana said the state government had failed to recruit faculty in the state-run educational institutions as around 90 per cent of students were studying in government schools, colleges and universities. The government was running the institutions with part-time or contract-basis staff, he alleged.
The condition of the universities, which are reeling under a fund crunch, is very pathetic as there has been no single recruitment in universities for the past ten years in the state, he noted.

The TUV expressed concern over the worried parents of students belonging to weaker sections and intellectuals regarding the series of incidents taking place at Kakatiya University, especially regarding the irregularities in Ph.D. admissions, which disappointed the hardworking students of poor underprivileged families, aspiring to pursue higher education.

He said that the ruling BRS leaders were least bothered though the future of poor students was at stake. He demanded the government intervene and take immediate steps to strengthen the education system and universities apart from probing irregularities in PhD admissions at KU.

TUV members Dr R. Jagadishwara Prasad, A. Venkateshwarlu, Ch. Kumara Swamy, S. Ram Murthy, B. Papi Reddy, Bhatti Shyam, M. Satish, N. Yadagiri and V. Sammaiah were present.
