Kakinada: Former chief minister and imprisoned Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani has expressed apprehension that her husband Lokesh may also be arrested on Sunday or so.

“But our Telugu Desam family is strong. It can face any challenges,” she maintained.

Brahmani, along with her mother-in-law Bhuvaneswari, spouse of Chandrababu Naidu, and Telugu Mahila activists took out a candle rally on Saturday night at Rajamahendravaram.

Naidu’s daughter-in-law told media that her mother-in-law has always remained at home, like a dignified house wife. But the undemocratic action of the state government has brought her out on to the streets. “My father-in-law Chandrababu Naidu is in jail at Rajamahendravaram. My husband Lokesh is in New Delhi. My son Devansh is in Hyderabad for his education. My mother-in-law Bhuvaneswari is in Rajamahendravaram. I am shuttling between Vijayawada and Rajamahendravaram due to the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu,” she explained.

Brahmani said nobody in the state and country or world is giving any credence to charges of corruption levelled against the TD president. Thousands of people have come out openly in support of him. She said she has confidence in the legal system and Chandrababu Naidu may be released by next week.

She pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu has developed Cyberabad and brought several software companies. His vision helped thousands of young people get jobs in the software sector, including her.

“Thousands of IT professionals have come out in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and other places and rallied in support of Chandrababu Naidu,” she stated.
