Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee is very confident of winning three to four constituencies out of the seven in the Old City in the forthcoming assembly elections.
TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy inspected the area at Charminar on Monday for the arrangements of the Rajiv Gandhi Sadhbhavana Yatra that will be attended by the All India Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Uttam said, “We are very confident about the Old City, as we are fielding strong candidates for these Assembly elections. Our survey reports are saying that we will win two to three constituencies and we are confident of winning three to four seats in the elections.”
He added, “The MIM should answer the Muslim community about why they are supporting the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, even though they knew that the TRS was supporting the BJP. It is known that the TRS is ready to join hands with the BJP.”
He added, “The Congress flag was hoisted in the Old City by Rajiv Gandhi in 1990 and the Sadhbhavana Yatra is being organised to commemorate him. Mr Rahul will attend the Yatra and will present the Rajiv Gandhi Sadhbhavana Award to former Governor of Tamil Nadu, K. Rosiah.”
