Rahul, Priyanka to kick off bus yatra today after praying at Ramappa temple
Leaders to begin bus yatra from Ramappa Temple to Ramanujapuram
Hyderabad: AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will launch the TPCC’s Vijayabheri Yatra bus yatra from the Ramappa temple in Mulugu between 5 pm and 6 pm on Wednesday, after offering prayers at the world heritage shrine. They will address a public meeting later in the day.
TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy said, “Rahul will visit the Ramappa temple and pray to Lord Shiva, as he is a devotee of the God, like me. The bus yatra will start after that.”
“The bus yatra is being held in three phases: the first one lasting from October 18th to 20th. The yatra on the first day will complete the first phase, covering Mahbubabad, Warangal, Peddapalli, Karimnagar and Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituencies,” Revanth Reddy said.
As part of the first phase, Rahul Gandhi will take part in a women's convention in Mulugu, Bhupalpally and Ramagundam, where he will also interact with Singareni collieries workers.
Harkara Venugopal Rao, chairman (protocol), TPCC, said, “Rahul and Priyanka will arrive by flight either at the Begumpet airport or the Shamshabad airport and take a helicopter to te Ramappa temple. There are no scheduled programmes in the city. The details of when Priyanka’s return schedule have not been communicated.”
“The main reception will be at Ramappa temple. TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, manifesto committee D. Sridhar Babu and MLA Seethakka will be waiting there. AICC Telangana incharge Manikrao Thakre and AICC secretaries, Rohit Chaudhary, Viswanath and Mansoor Ali Khan, will receive the leaders,” he said.
