KAKINADA: Several speakers of the YSRC have described the rule of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as a “Golden Period''' for Andhra Pradesh.

“The chief minister is giving top priority to BCs, SCs, STs and Minorities,” the leaders said at the YSRC BC Samajika Sadhikarika Yatra at Kothapeta in the BR Ambedkar Konaseema district on Thursday.

They said that Jagan Mohan Reddy gave 50 per cent of the nominated posts to BCs, SCs, STs and Minorities. BC welfare minister SV Gopalakrishna criticised former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.

“A lie in the form of Chandrababu Naidu ruled the state for 14 years and ruined AP. He suppressed all the downtrodden sections without helping them politically and economically,” he said.

He added, ”Chandrababu promised the farmers a loan waiver, but he cheated them. However, Pawan Kalyan is playing a role of support to Chandrababu.”

Civil supplies minister Nageswara Rao said Chandrababu Naidu used to give promotions and appoint collectors from his own community of his followers. But, Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving due weight to all IAS officers without any discrimination.”

He said Chandrababu Naidu was trying to get bail by citing “lies'' whereas Jagan Mohan Reddy was busy doing good to the people.

The former MLA and the YSRC MLC Thota Trimurthulu said Chandrababu was most selfish and could never fulfill even a single election promise. “But, Jagan Mohan Reddy is providing all the schemes without showing any discrimination.”

Rajya Sabha member Pilli Subhashchandra Bose said government whip and Kothapeta MLA Chirla Jaggireddy was a good leader and must be made MLA. Rajamahendravaram MP, M. Bharat, said Jagan Mohan Reddy has ushered in Grama Swarajya through introducing the village and ward secretariat system.

Ministers Merugu Nagarjuna, Pinepe Viswaroop, former agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu and others were present.
