Jammu: Shiv Sena activists burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday in protest over the ex-gratia to the kin of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani's brother who was killed in anti-insurgency operations in the Valley.

Shiv Sena activists led by senior leader Radhay Maharaj protested on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua. They blocked the highway and raised anti-government slogans.

Maharaj said it was very unfortunate that the BJP-PDP government in the state has cleared the ex-gratia. He said that by giving compensation to the family members of Burhan Wani, Mufti has shown her "real face".

Khalid was killed in anti-insurgency operations carried out by security forces in Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 13 last year.
