Naidu, Pawan Kalyan Huddle in Political Power Play
Vijayawada: In a late-night meeting on Sunday, TD chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan huddled for 2.5 hours, fueling speculation about a potential alliance for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh elections. The talks, held at Kalyan's Hyderabad residence, focused on political strategies, a joint manifesto, and crucial seat adjustments.
Political analysts watch with keen eyes whether a new three-party alliance might emerge, mirroring the 2014 election strategy.
This isn't the first time the two leaders have strategised together. Notably, Naidu visited Kalyan's home in 2014 to secure the initial alliance, and subsequent meetings have solidified their political bond.
Nadendla Manohar, Jana Sena's political affairs chief, downplayed the speculation, framing the talks as discussions on "YSRC's misgovernance, grassroots issues, and Andhra Pradesh's future."
He emphasised the leaders' "agreement to work in coordination" to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRC. With elections just months away, the Naidu-Kalyan meeting throws the political landscape into flux. Whether it paves the way for a TD-Jana Sena-BJP alliance, or signifies a solo TD path, remains to be seen.
