Won't spare those who backstabbed me: Ex- MLA
Warangal: After losing the Assembly elections, former BRS MLA Banoth Shankar Naik warned his party leaders for 'backstabbed' him by working against him in the elections in the Mahabubabad constituency.
Speaking at a meeting with party workers in Guduru mandal of Mahabubabad district, the ex-MLA alleged that he knew very well that he lost the elections because of backstabbing by some of the BRS leaders instead of supporting him.
Stating that he and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao were born in the same nakshatra (birth star), Shankar Naik said that he would teach a fitting lesson to everyone who betrayed the party in the erstwhile Warangal district where everyone knew about him and what would happen if anyone went against him.
“I already crossed 55 years of age. I will send my daughter to America after her marriage and my son to a civil engineering job. After that, I will not have any work. I will start hunting those leaders who backstabbed me and show my power to them. No one can stop me now,” he warned.
He said that he was patient all these days as he was in the MLA post. But, from now on, the leaders who try to go against him or criticise him should shiver and think twice before making any comments against him, he added.
He said that he had made a big mistake by proposing the names of MPPs and ZPTCs without listening to mandal party leaders. He promised that he would not repeat the same in the coming days and urged party workers to work united to strengthen the BRS in the district.
Criticising the Congress government for continuing the developmental works and schemes which were taken up by the BRS government, Shankar Naik said that the BRS would come to power again very soon as the Six Guarantees of the Congress were not possible to implement.
