Jagan Mohan Reddy releases full list for Assembly, Lok Sabha polls
Jagan Mohan Reddy to contest from Pulivendula; uncle dropped from Lok Sabha polls.
Vijayawada: While leaders from the Kamma community got a major share of seats in the TD’s first list, those from the Reddy commuinity got 46 seats in YSRC’s list.
YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday released a list of party candidates for all the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies at Idupulapaya after paying tribute to his father and late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
While the full YSRC list is now out, TD supremo and AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu is yet to release the party’s Lok Sabha list and also the names of candidates for 49 Assembly segments.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will be contesting from the Pulivendula Assembly constituency in Kadapa. His cousin Y.S. Avinash Reddy has been renominated to contest for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s uncle and Ongole MP Y.V. Subba Reddy has been dropped.
Actor and firebrand politician R.K. Roja has been renominated from the Nagari segment in Chittoor district. Those who defected from the TD to the YSRC at the last minute, Mr Adala Prabhakar Reddy, Mr Magunta Srinivas Reddy, and Mr Modugula Venugopal Reddy, have got tickets to contest from Nellore, Ongole, and Guntur Lok Sabha seats respectively.
After releasing the list, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the allotment of seats was done after careful survey and calculations, and representation was given to all sections.
The list includes 41 candidates for the backward classes as the party believes in social justice, unlike Mr Naidu, who has included other castes to boost the numbers. “Due to various factors, we had to make a few changes in the list, and fresh faces were included,” the YSRC chief said.
