Enough politicking! BSY, Congress to write off' each other
Siddaramaiah's team may rope in cartoonists to target former CM for his wrongdoings'.
Bengaluru: Verbal rants and charge sheets could well be passé as state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are planning to launch books to attack each other on corruption.
Close on the heels of a “charge sheet” released by leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Jagadish Shettar against CM Siddaramaiah, Mr Yeddyurappa plans to unveil a book with a slew of charges against his three year-old government. And to get even with the former CM, Mr Siddaramaiah’s camp has reportedly approached some cartoonists and authors with a penchant for satire to tarnish the image of Mr Yeddyurappa.
The first book, with a title “Kaliyugada Harischandra” is likely to list about 101 wrong doings of Mr Yeddyurappa and his team during his tenure as CM between 2008-11. It would help offset the poor response derived by the government for “Jana Mana.” Besides, Mr Siddaramaiah's second attempt through release of a 140-page booklet on achievements of his government apparently failed to achieve results, leaving the CM camp with little choice than attempt a counter-offensive against Mr Yeddyurappa.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader in the CM's camp said, "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is not perturbed over booklets released by the BJP per se, but there is definitely a threat that the BJP campaign might gain traction in the days to come. To stop this, we are planning a booklet on charges of corruption against Yeddyurappa and his team between 2008-2013.”
”In public memory, Rachenalhalli denotification scam is fresh, but there are more than 100 minor scams which could be highlighted now,” the leader added.
