Chandrababu Naidu to welcome any party that defeats BJP at Centre
Mr Rao and Mr Naidu are touring the states to get regional parties into their fold.
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister and TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that he was open to work with whichever party that was against the BJP. He was responding to a specific question whether he was ready to work with the TRS. Mr Naidu spoke to media in New Delhi after submitting a memorandum to the Election Commission.
His comment assumes significance against the backdrop of reports that the Congress high command is trying to get the support of the TRS and YSRC, and that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has invited TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to a meeting of opposition parties on May 23.
Mr Rao and Mr Naidu are touring the states to get regional parties into their fold.
Mr Rao has proposed Federal Front with regional parties against the BJP and Congress while Mr Naidu wants to bring all anti-BJP parties into the UPA fold.
Against this backdrop, Mr Naidu was asked if he was ready to work with the TRS.
“Don’t ask speculative questions. Whichever party is against the BJP we are ready to work with them. There is no need to discriminate any particular party,” the TD chief said.
