Hyderabad: Telangana state BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar lashed out at Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday over the flooding of the Kaleshwaram project pump house, claiming that the ruling dispensation had failed miserably to take precautionary measures.

Referring to the Chief Minister's announcement that his government would pay Rs 10,000 compensation to flood victims evacuated from low-lying areas, Sanjay claimed that the CM was making false promises during his district visits in order to mislead the affected people. He also demanded that the state government develop long-term plans to prevent untoward incidents during natural disasters.

"The Chief Minister has failed to take concrete measures to provide adequate facilities to flood-affected residents. Due to the government's negligence, no government employee received their salaries as of today. To divert attention away from these issues, the Chief Minister began visiting flood-affected areas and making false promises,” the BJP leader stated.

Sanjay also accused the Chief Minister of making false promises about building colonies for people residing in and around river Godavari catchment areas. He also demanded that books and uniforms be provided to students in government schools.
