Rahul Gandhi yet to find time to form political affairs panel
Mr Sudheeran said he was not aware of the proposed visit of former chief minister Oommen Chandy.
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran said on Wednesday that the delay in constituting the political affairs committee was due to the inconvenience of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Mr Sudheeran was speaking to reporters in Delhi where he had gone to meet Mr Rahul Gandhi to invite him to the Matsya Thozhilali Congress being held in the state next month.
The political affairs committee will be constituted to conduct and supervise the reorganisation of the party ahead of the organisational polls to be held within three months. The KPCC would assist the PAC to carry out the reorganisation and organisational polls in a free and fair manner.
While ‘A’ and ‘I’ groups had expressed their apprehensions regarding the reorganisation, Mr Sudheeran is firm on going ahead with the schedule decided by the high command. It may be recalled that the two dominant groups are not keen on having Mr Sudheeran in the top post during the reorganisation process.
Mr Sudheeran said he was not aware of the proposed visit of former chief minister Oommen Chandy and Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala to Delhi next week to meet Mr Rahul Gandhi.
