Komaram Bheem, Ramji Gond turn focal point of BJP meet

ADILABAD: Legendary Adivasi leaders Komaram Bheem and Ramji Gond who sacrificed their lives for the self-respect and self-rule of Adivasis and fought against the establishments were highlighted at the Telangana Liberation Day public meeting held in Nirmal on Friday. The meeting was organised by the BJP.
Photos of Komaram Bheem and Ramji Gond were included on the background of the electronic screen on the dais. Singers sang songs praising the sacrifices of Adivasi leaders. Photos of the then Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan welcoming Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Veyyivurulamarri (a banyan tree on which hundreds of Telangana activists were hanged) were also displayed on the electronic screen. The BJP tried to relate these symbols to the Telangana liberation.
A huge cut out of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also set up on the dais. Speaking on the occasion, BJP leaders described Amit Shah as Abhinava Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
