Huzurabad bypoll has nothing to do with self-respect: Congress
It is being fought only to save one's assets, said party candidate Dr B. Venkat Narasing Rao
Karimnagar: The byelection in Huzurabad has nothing to do with the “claim of self-respect” but is fought by some to protect their assets and some others to show their “arrogance”, said the Congress candidate Dr B. Venkat Narasing Rao on Sunday.
The references were to BJP candidate and former minister Etala Rajendar and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. The Congress nominee along with other party leaders held a door-to-door campaign in various villages in Kamalapur mandal.
Dr Venkat alleged that Rajendar as the (former) health minister did not care for his self-respect when people requested him to include Coronavirus infection in the Arogyasri scheme. “When he was suspended from his minister post, he raised the slogan of self-respect to protect his assets. All the members of KCR’s family got top political jobs. But by giving Rs 2,000 as pension, the TRS government is preventing us from getting the jobs we deserve," he said.
Mulugu MLA Seethakka, Warangal DCC president Rajendar Reddy, Sammaiah, Preetham, Srinivas, Charan, Ashok Reddy and Sarala were present at the day’s campaigning.
