Rahul casts vote in prez poll at Ballari
AP delegates line up at Kurnool polling station
ANANTAPUR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the Bharat Jodo Yatra currently on the AP - Karnataka borders cast his vote for AICC president poll in the specially set booth at his yatra camp in Ballari (Karnataka) on Monday.
The yatra had a halt on Monday due to the nationwide polling. Rahul is scheduled to resume the yatra through Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. The yatra would enter AP at Kshetra Gudi in Halaharvi mandal of Kurnool district from Ballari district around 6.30am October 18.
Delegates accompanying Rahul Gandhi in the yatra too have cast their votes at the special polling station in Ballari. Meanwhile, the AP delegates cast their votes at the DCC office in Kurnool.
APCC chief Dr Sailajanath, senior leaders KVP Ramachandra Rao, Pallam Raju, Kanumuri Bapi Raju and JD Seelam were among those who have cast their votes. Former APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy, who kept himself off active politics for the past three years, also cast his vote in Kurnool.
The state leaders were making arrangements for the four-day Bharath Jodo Yatra through Kurnool district. As per the schedule, the yatra enter in Kurnool district on Tuesday would start at Kshetra Gudi in Halaharvi mandal. The yatra would end for the day at 7.30pm at Manekurthi village in Alur mandal.
On Wednesday, the yatra will through Adoni town and Rahul Gandhi would address the media at the Arts College grounds at around 10.30am. He would reach Arikal village and stay there for the night.
On October 20, the yatra would enter Yemmiganur town and reach Kaludevakunta in Mantralayam mandal by 7.30pm. On October 21, the yatra will go through Mantralayam town and Madhavaram and enter Raichur district, in Karnataka.
