Make Vizag most beautiful, best livable city: Minister
Visakhapatnam: Minister for municipal administration and urban development Adimulapu Suresh asked the officials to take up beautification measures in the Visakhapatnam district in the most possible ways to make it one of the best livable cities in the country.
The minister held a review meeting with collector Dr A. Mallikarjuna and the officials at the VMRDA administrative office on Tuesday on pending projects and future plans.
He said the roads should be free from potholes and litter. They should be widened enough for the free flow of traffic. He directed the officials to focus on waste management so that the environment could be kept free from pollution.
He wanted them to make plans for the development of amusement and theme parks and entertainment centres for both locals and tourists visiting Visakhapatnam city and other places.
Stating that the beach Vizag was a boon for the city, the minister told the officials to beautify several beachfront areas in the city to attract tourists.
Later talking to the media persons, the minister promised that the people would soon see a new and beautiful Visakhapatnam city.
“We are also in an advanced stage to send proposals for the Metro Rail project,’’ Suresh told the reporters.
