Tear his clothes: Kamal Nath\'s Dig at Digvijay on ticket allotment
A video showing Nath asking partymen to tear the clothes of Digvijay Singh for denying the party ticket to a local leader has gone viral
Bhopal: Is there a rift brewing between two former Congress chief ministers, Mr Kamal Nath and Mr Digvijay Singh?
A video showing Mr Kamal Nath asking party men to tear clothes of former chief minister Mr Digvijay Singh for denying the party ticket to a local leader, went viral on Tuesday.
It all started after the supporters of Virendra Raghuvanshi started protesting in front of Mr Nath’s residence here for denying him ticket from Shivpuri Assembly constituency.
Mr Raghuvanshi switched over to Congress from BJP, following an assurance that he would be fielded from Shivpuri.
However, the ticket went to another Congress leader, Mr KP Singh.
An angry Mr Nath told the supporters to “ go and tear the clothes of Digvijay Singh,” hinting that it was Mr Singh who was responsible for the denying party ticket to Mr Raghuvanshi.
Later in a damage control exercise both the Congress leaders held a joint press conference.
Downplaying the issue, Mr Nath said Mr Digvijay Singh has agreed to “accept” all the criticism and brickbats on “my behalf.” .
Mr Digvijay taking the twitter(X) route stated that like “Lord Shiva” he has decided to “consume the poison” on behalf of the party.
