Thoothukudi: The DMK women's wing leader, Ms. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi's grama sabha meetings in Thoothukudi was more a campaign for the ensuing general elections than a rural outreach programme.

Meeting villagers of around ten revenue villages in the Kurukkusalai panchayat in the district on Friday evening, the DMK Rajya Sabha MP, Kanimozhi, patiently heard out grievances of the villagers for about 15 minutes and meticulously took notes of the people's demands.

She also promised the people to take appropriate action for the closure of Tasmac shops once the DMK comes back to power in the state.
