VIJAYAWADA: Following the orders of the AP High Court, a case has been registered against minister for water resources Ambati Rambabu at Sattenapalli police station for his alleged involvement in organising Sankranti Lucky Draw. The police said the case has been registered under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes Prohibition Act.

It may be recalled that Jana Sena Palnadu district president Gade Venkateswara Rao had lodged a complaint with the Sattenapalli police alleging that YSR Congress leaders were selling tickets in Sattenapalli under the name of Sankranti Lucky Draw led by minister Ambati.

However, he filed a petition with the Guntur court, alleging Sattenapalli police did not register a case despite his plaint. The court, which conducted an inquiry into the matter, ordered the police to immediately register a case against the minister and conduct an investigation. A probe is under way.
