Anantapur: TD lures YSRC MLAs from Jagan's district
YSRC legislator C. Adinarayana Reddy from Jammalamadugu is awaiting a call from the TD high command to shift loyalties.
Anantapur: The Telugu Desam high command is luring YSRC MLAs from Kadapa, the home district of YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The leadership is offering sops to TD leaders and constituency in-charges to secure their cooperation in inviting sitting YSRC MLAs and senior leaders to improve their hold on the district.
YSRC legislator C. Adinarayana Reddy from Jammalamadugu is awaiting a call from the TD high command to shift loyalties and the line has been cleared for his entry, party sources said.
Jammalamadugu TD in-charge Ramasubba Reddy was opposing Mr Adinarayana Reddy's entry into the party. But Ramasubba Reddy was reportedly persuaded by the party high command to drop his opposition.
Mr Ramasubba Reddy said he had opposed Mr Adinarayana Reddy's entry as senior party cadres at all levels in the TD would suffer. "The cadres made sacrifices at every level during the Congress regime."
Sources said Mr Ramasubba Reddy was reportedly convinced by the high command by ensuring that he gets priority in his constituency.
"Our leader will continue in the party till he gets respect in government and party programmes in Jammalamadugu even after the sitting MLA joins," a close aide of Mr Ramasubba Reddy said.
While Mr Adinarayana Reddy and his brother MLC Narayana Reddy were all set to join the party, speculation is rife over shifting of two more MLAs from the district along with district level representatives.
The TD had only MLA - Mr Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy from Rajampeta - in the district, while all the YSRC held all the other Assembly seats.
