Bengaluru: Putting an end to speculation of a possible meeting between jailed AIADMK leader S.K. Sasikala and the party deputy general secretary, Mr T.T.V. Dinakaran, who was in the city for two days, left to Chennai on Tuesday.

There were expectations of Mr Dinakaran meeting Ms Sasikala to discuss the party issues. Mr Dinakaran, who had arrived in the city on Monday evening, had stayed at a hotel but did not approach jail authorities seeking permission to meet Sasikala.

“We did not receive any requisition from Dinakaran or anyone else to meet Sasikala,” said Mr Krishnakumar, Chief Superintendent of the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

It is said that Mr Dinakaran, against whom a case of attempting to bribe the Election Commission (EC) for the AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol has been registered by Delhi Crime Branch on Tuesday, might have cancelled the meeting with Ms Sasikala, fearing that he would be arrested when he goes to meet her.
