YSRC candidate alleges Nara Lokesh targeting him

He alleged that TD plans to stop and detain YSRC counting agents in the name of checks for hours.

Vijayawada: Mangalagiri MLA and YSR Congress candidate Alla Ramakrishna Reddy lodged a complaint with AP chief electoral officer G.K. Dwivedi about the possibility of fomenting violence by Telugu Desam during votes counting on May 23.

He said because Nara Lokesh, son of AP chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, was contesting against him in Mangalagiri Assembly constituency, the TD plans to create disturbances during the vote counting process.

He alleged that TD plans to stop and detain YSRC counting agents in the name of checks for hours and prevent him from attending the counting process.

Mr Ramakrishna Reddy claimed that earlier too, Mr Lokesh sat on a dharna violating the election code but police led by Guntur SP Ch Vijaya Rao did not take any action against him or his supporters but took action against YSRC leaders and harassed them which is illegal and undemocratic.

He claimed that there were chances of an attack on him and sought additional security till completion of the counting process and to appoint special central observers and additional central police force in the counting centre.
