Kavitha takes a dig at Congress over development
Kavitha questions Congress\' competence after 60 years of rule in Telangana
Nizamabad: BRS MLC Kavitha took a dig at Congress on the issue of Sriramsagar project in Nizamabad district.
Addressing BRS activists at a meeting in Bodhan, along with MLA Shakil Amer, she pointed out that construction of Sriramsagar, also called the Pochampad project, had been started when Jawaharlal Nehru, the great grandfather of Rahul Gandhi, had been the prime minister. However, Sriramsagar project has finally been completed by the BRS government.
The BRS MLC pointed out that even four generations of Congress could not complete the Sriramsagar project. Comparatively, she underlined that the BRS government led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has completed the Kaleshwaram project within three-and-a-half years.
Speaking to media personnel in Bodhan on Wednesday, Kavitha said the Congress party, which ruled for 60 years, could not provide basic amenities to the people in Telangana. “In such a case, how can the Congress party compete with BRS,” she asked.
The ruling party leader said whenever Congress party wanted to change its chief minister, there were communal riots in the state. “During the past 10 years, there have been no communal riots in Telangana. Friendship between different communities in the state should not be disturbed. Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb should not get affected," Kavitha underlined.
