BJP leaders stage protests across Telangana

HYDERABAD: BJP leaders and activists in large numbers staged protests across the state on Saturday against the attack on the residence of Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind by TRS activists. Several protestors were taken into custody.

They burnt the effigy of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in various towns amid sloganeering against Rao and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

BJP activists demonstrated at Aliabad and Ibrahimpatnam crossroads.

The BJP leaders said that TRS leaders were unable to digest criticism from the BJP and had started physical attacks on the party leaders.

BJP state general secretary G. Premender Reddy said that party leaders and activists had staged a series of protests on Friday and Saturday against the attack on the residence of Arvind.

Meanwhile, police took preventive measures and some of the protestors into custody.
