Nizamabad Urban seat contestant dies by suicide
Nizamabad: Alliance of Democratic Reforms Party MLA candidate Yamaganti Kannaiah Goud, 29, died by suicide in his residence at Gayatrinagar on Sunday. A vegetable vendor filed nomination papers for the Nizamabad Urban Assembly constituency and he is one of the contestants among 21 candidates.
Police said that Kanniah Goud might died by suicide due to harassment from nude app calls organisers. His last phone call and data show that he reacted to the calls from nude apps. Reportedly, the organisers threatened him to disclose the nude videos for extortion. Unable to bear the harassment, Kannaiah Goud ended his life, police said.
Kannaiah Goud is survived by a wife and an infant. He recently constructed a new house and filed nomination papers for the Nizamabad urban Assembly constituency. The Election Commission allotted him ‘Roti Maker’ as poll symbol for polling on November 30. Police shifted the body for post-mortem at Government General Hospital.
Meanwhile, election returning officers submitted a report to the Election Commission of India over the suicidal death of contesting candidate Yamaganti Kannaiah Goud. As per the ECI orders, further action will be initiated, the official sources said.
Sitting MLA, BRS candidate Bigala Ganesh Gupta, Congress candidate Mohammad Ali Shabbir, and BJP nominee Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta are in the fray from the Nizamabad urban Assembly constituency.
