Centre once again rules out SCS to Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: The Central government has once again categorically said that there will be no question of granting Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Telugu Desam member Kanakamedala Ravindrakumar on Tuesday asked in the Rajya Sabha about providing special category status to Andhra Pradesh. In a reply to this, the Central government said that it was not possible to grant special category status to the state.
The Central government said that instead of granting special category status, it has already announced a special package to Andhra Pradesh, adding that it was providing financial assistance to the state through foreign institutions.
