Andhra Pradesh police seek stern action against TD leader
Patrudu used vulgar language and threatened to shoot the police on sight after he becomes home minister when TD forms government, they said
VIJAYAWADA: Leaders of Andhra Pradesh Police Officers’ Association (APPOA) on Thursday objected to statement of former minister and Telugu Desam senior leader Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu on taking revenge against police after TD comes to power.
The association leaders, led by APPOA state president J. Srinivasa Rao, pointed out that addressing the NTR Jayanti celebrations on Wednesday, Ayyanna Patrudu used vulgar language and threatened to shoot the police on sight after he becomes the home minister when Telugu Desam forms its government in AP.
The APPOA leaders observed that such statements are severely objectionable, coming from a person who had been a minister in the previous government. “We live in a democracy. We feel it is a heinous act to make threatening comments that hurt sentiments of police,” they stated.
The association leaders recalled that on various occasions, Ayyanna Patrudu had spoken nonsense about police for his own political mileage and gain. They demanded legal action against Patrudu for his derogatory remarks against police.
