WARANGAL: District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naini Rajendar Reddy on Thursday met police commissioner A.V. Ranganath at his office. He submitted a representation to the officer urging him to prevent land sharks from encroaching valuable lands of government and private persons in Hanamkonda district.

Later, Rajendar Reddy charged that some ruling BRS leaders are grabbing valuable lands in the tri-cities of Hanamkonda, Warangal and Kazipet and surrounding villages with the help of corrupt revenue and police officials.

He pointed out that recently, a case has been lodged against corporator Vemula Srinivas, who is a close associate of government chief whip and Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, for grabbing the land of private persons.

The DCC president requested the police commissioner to appoint an ACP-level officer and prevent land grab in the historic city Warangal.

Rajendar Reddy also sought permission from the commissioner for organising Congress party’s “Hath Se Hath Jodo” in all divisions of Hanamkonda municipality from January 26.
