Wakf Board to nail land sharks eyeing assets

Hyderabad: Chairman of Wakf Board, Mr Mohammed Saleem, visited Dargah Amanullah Shah and Jamia Masjid, Hameedullah Nagar, Shamshabad and asked the officials to take action against locals creating hurdles in the protection of Wakf property. Mr Saleem said lands to the extent of 39-42 acres are attached with a particular Wakf institution. This is a prime land worth of crores of rupees, but land sharks are trying to encroach and take over.
He instructed the officials to initiate action under the Wakf Act. He also instructed them to register criminal cases against those who are not allowing the Board to raise protection wall. He said a meeting would be convened of officials from Revenue and Police departments to ensure complete protection of the property.
