YSRC spent Rs 16 crore on political campaigns, more than TD, TRS

Hyderabad: Every rally of YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy witnesses a big gathering and they were always a costly affair. In 2017-18, the party spent `16 crore as campaign expenditure, way more than the TRS and the TD.
The party, apart from donations received Rs 14,23,39,586 from other avenues of income which includes subscription and membership fees. The members of the party gave around Rs 14, 23, 46, 137 while another Rs 47, 449 came from a different income.
Out of the total income, Rs 16 crore (using funds remaining from the previous year) was used for election campaign expenditure. The second highest expense was for administrative purpose - Rs 4.34 crore.
In the audit report submitted by the party to the Election Commission of India, on March 31, 2018, the party showed a liability of Rs 5.79 crore
However, with regard to funds from different avenues apart from contribution, it has been an all time high for the TRS when compared to the YSRC and the TD.
The TRS maximum financial boost came from its grassroot-level workers in as annual subscription. It received an income of Rs 22.9 crore in 2018 as subscription fee against the Rs 2.89 crore in 2017.
This indicated a multi-fold increase in registrations. Put together, the TRS received Rs 27.27 crore in 2018, a nine-fold increase from the previous year.
