DMK protest from April 23 till CMB is formed: MK Stalin
Cadres stage agitation outside Raja's residence.
Chennai: DMK leader M.K. Stalin on Thursday announced that series of daily protests and a massive human chain on April 23 will be organised to protest against the Centre.
The protest will include all opposition parties, farmers organisations and NGOs and will forge a people’s alliance against the BJP Government for its neglect of the Tamils’ interests, he told reporters here.
The protests will continue against the Governor until the Centre recalls him.
DMK will protest until the Cauvery Water Management Board is formed, Stalin said.
The conduct of the BJP-led government at the Centre and the TN governor has earned the wrath of TN public and the party leadership has made it clear to protest against saffron leaders for their unjust and controversial statements, former mayor and DMK legislator M Subramanian said.
“We will regularly conduct protests exposing the unjust meted out by BJP and the AIADMK governments on Tamils on issues like Cauvery, Neet and the state autonomy,” he said.
Meanwhile, cadres of DMK on Thursday staged a massive protest outside the residence of BJP national secretary H Raja in Chennai condemning his recent abusive tweet targeting DMK MP Kanimozhi.
Tension prevailed as DMK cadres breached barricades and pushed their way into the apartment complex of Raja’s residence. The demonstrators also raised slogans demanding Raja’s arrest. Similar protests were also held in Coimbatore, Vellore, Tiruppur, Vellore, Cuddalore and Trichy where effigies of Raja were burnt.
