Lok Sabha Elections: BJP confident of 9+1
Infighting among coalition partners in Hassan and Tumakuru would benefit BJP, Senior BJP leader and former minister R Ashoka said.
Bengaluru: Buoyed by an impressive voter turnout in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies-68.81 per cent or a tad more than recorded in 2014-leaders of the state unit of BJP are confident of victories in ten out of 14 seats where elections were held on Thursday. This will include all three seats in Bengaluru, two in the coastal districts, Chitradurga, Chikkaballapur, Mysuru, Kolar, as well as Mandya, where the BJP backed the independent candidate, Sumalatha.
Senior BJP leader and former minister R Ashoka told Deccan Chronicle, his party would take the overall tally of seats to 22 at the end of second phase of polling on April 23 as this phase includes BJP strongholds in north Karnataka. Infighting among coalition partners in Hassan and Tumakuru would benefit BJP, he said.
