Etala focuses on winning SCCL union polls
The SCCL polls impact 24 Assembly constituencies spread across the four erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam
ADILABAD: Huzurabad BJP MLA Etala Rajendar has started reviving his personal relations with the leaders of the coal belt area, with the BJP focusing on winning the elections for the recognised trade union in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
The SCCL elections impact 24 Assembly constituencies spread across the four erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam.
The BJP-backed Singareni Coal Mines Karmika Sangh, affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) is not as strong as the Telangana Boggu Ghani Karimka Sangham (TBGKS) of the TRS and the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) in SCCL.
Rajendar used to look after the activities of the TBGKS when he was with TRS.
Rajendar, senior BJP leader Gaddam Vivek and BMS national in charge Kothakapu Laxma Reddy participated in a gate meeting of coal workers at the RK-5 mine in Srirampur and visited two colonies and interacted with the families of workers in Mancherial district on April 18.
Families told Rajendar that they were facing water supply issues, the SCCL did not issue pattas to the lands on which they have constructed houses. They also complained about high power bills. The BMS-BJP campaign will continue for 10 days.
