THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress leaders are elated over the defeat suffered by the BJP in its attempts to capture power in Karnataka. Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala opined that  Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah,  who encouraged horse- trading, had received a serious setback.     “This is the biggest blow suffered by  Modi and  Amit Shah who tried to subvert democracy.  The BJP tried to promote horse-trading and  Governor Vajubhai Vala was responsible for  the  fiasco there. He too should quit,"  said Mr Chennithala. Democracy has triumphed in the end, he added.

KPCC president M. M. Hassan said  the BJP stood  exposed.   A case should be registered against Mr Yeddyurappa who tried to cling  to power through horse-trading, he said and added that evidence was tumbling out to prove the bribery charge against the  BJP.  He also demanded that the Karnataka Governor should quit. Former KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran said  Mr  Yeddyurappa had been disgraced by his actions.  Both Modi and Amit Shah used power and muscle power to put their  CM  in power, he alleged and demanded the resignation of Governor Vajubhai Vala.
