Vaddiraju files papers for Rajya Sabha bypoll
A Rajya Sabha nomination requires the support of 10 MLAs. No other party in the Assembly has 10 legislators
Hyderabad: TRS candidate Vaddiraju Ravichandra filed his papers for the Rajya Sabha bypoll on Thursday, the last day to file nominations. Since he was the only one to file his papers, Ravichandra will be declared unopposed if his papers are cleared after scrutiny of nominations on May 20.
A Rajya Sabha nomination requires the support of 10 MLAs. No other party in the Assembly has 10 legislators.
Accompanied by ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs and scores of party activists, Ravichandra, popularly known as Gayatri Ravi, reached the Assembly premises to file his papers.
Prior to that, he took out a rally from MLA Colony to the Telangana Martyrs Memorial in front of the Assembly. After paying tributes to martyrs, he filed his nomination papers.
Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Sathyavathi Rathod, MP Maloth Kavitha, MLCs Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Banda Prakash, MLAs Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy and Nannapaneni Narender.
