HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to ensure an immediate end to the real estate businesses on lands owned by Dalits and tribals.

In a letter to the Chief Minister on Friday, Sanjay said such land must be protected and barred from being developed by realtors.

Instead of protecting such land by lending support to the assignees, the government has remained a silent spectator when the beneficiaries are being forced to give up their land for real estate development.

“The ventures in Siddipet and Shamshabad are coming up on land assigned to Dalits and tribals. The BRS government must take immediate steps to protect the interests of these hapless victims,” Sanjay said.

He reminded Rao of his promise to provide pattas for podu land to tribals.
