Advances were swindled: Errabelli Dayakar Rao
K Chandrashekhar Rao had completed the Kaleshwaram project in three years despite actions by Congress leaders.
Hyderabad: Panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao alleged on Wednesday that Congress leaders had swindled the mobilisation advances of irrigation projects by giving hundreds of crores of rupees to contractors as mobilisation advances during the Congress regime in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters at the Legislative Council media point, Mr Dayakar Rao criticised Congress leaders including its legislature party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLC T. Jeevan Reddy for spreading misinformation on the Kaleshwaram irrigation project. He said that Congress party leaders would do well to remember that not a single project that was begun during the erstwhile Congress government had progressed fully. He reminded that Chief Minister Mr. K Chandrashekhar Rao had completed the Kaleshwaram project in three years despite actions by Congress leaders to stop the project by creating unnecessary legal hurdles.
The minister found fault with opposition parties for criticising the government decision to construct the new Secretariat and Assembly complexes.
