BRS has no right to talk of BCs, say Congress leaders
HYDERABAD: Congress leaders and former Members of Parliament Ponnam Prabhakar and V. Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday lashed out at Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and BRS leaders for belittling BCs on the one side and claiming to be championing their cause on the other.
Questioning Chandrashekar Rao’s claims of having conducted caste census in the state, they challenged him to put the data in public domain, especially of the BCs population.
They said that the acceptance levels of Chandrashekar Rao have been so ridiculously low at the national level that he was not even invited for the meeting of the newly-formed INDIA alliance or by the NDA.
Prabhakar hailed the daring of the BC leaders from the ruling party for coming into the open and speaking against the BRS leadership.
Dismissing allegations that TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy had insulted BC leaders, Prabhakar wondered “What is the budget allocated for BCs between 2014 and 2023? Srinivas Goud should explain how many Gouds are in the ruling party. BRS leaders do not have any moral right to talk about BCs.”
Hanumantha Rao, who is on a statewide tour in the run-up to the BC garjana, said that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will grace the occasion.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he asked “Why is Modi, who calls himself a BC, shirking away from the caste census of BCs?”
