MK Stalin takes dad for a stroll
Dr Gopal told reporters that there had been \"considerable progress\" in the DMK chief's health condition.
Chennai: DMK president M. Karunanidhi was on Thursday wheeled into the office of party organ 'Murasoli' for a 20-minute nostalgia trip by his devoted son M. K. Stalin. Another son Tamilarasu and daughter Selvi accompanied, apart from personal physician Dr Gopal and some party seniors.
It was the first public outing in about a year for the 94-year-old DMK stalwart, who has been ailing from multiple issues and was hospitalised a few times. He is now undergoing treatment at his Gopalapuram residence.
Dr Gopal told reporters that there had been "considerable progress" in the DMK chief's health condition. "That's why he has been keen on participating in public functions. There is now expectation he would be able to address rallies", he said.
"This outing will certainly inspire the DMK cadre as it will give the positive message that their thalaivar is getting better. It is a Deepavali gift for them", said political commentator Dr Sumanth C. Raman.
