Heavy deployment of central forces in Munugode

HYDERABAD: Election Commission (EC) officials have deployed central forces at different checkpoints on National Highway -65 (Vijayawada-Hyderabad) ahead of Munugode by-elections.

They have sought ten companies of central forces for the poll-bound Munugode. Sources said that at least five companies have arrived and they have been posted at various check posts in order to curtail transportation of cash and liquor.

This is the first time that there is such heavy deployment of central forces in a by-election.

Meanwhile, central forces have detained TRS legislator K Bhoopal Reddy's vehicle while he was proceeding to Munugode. Reddy said that the central forces deliberately detained his vehicle on the pretext of checking.
