Recruit group-1 officers or face agitation: Bandi
He pointed out that around 25,000 junior assistant posts are vacant in the district, division, and Mandal-level offices
Hyderabad: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar castigated the TRS government for snuffing out the aspirations of the unemployed even as 1,600 group-1 posts are lying vacant in the state. He deplored the attitude of the state government as no notification has been issued over the years.
This lacuna has led to an acute shortage of IAS officers, he said. Group-1 officers from the state cadre are posted as members of IAS.
In the absence of group-1 recruitments, the directly recruited IAS officers are slogging it out as in-charge officers of up to four additional departments. This is crippling the administration, Sanjay said. Giving details, he said 4,000 group-2 posts, 2,000 group-3 posts and 40,000 group-4 posts are vacant across departments.
He pointed out that around 25,000 junior assistant posts are vacant in the district, division, and Mandal-level offices.
The BJP leader cautioned that if the government fails to fill up the posts on a priority basis, they would launch an agitation.
