BSP gives hope to new aspirants for 2019 polls
BSP has good cadres and senior leaders in the Karimnagar district and they organise party activities regularly in the district.
ADILABAD/KARIMNAGAR: The Bahujan Samaj Party ( BSP) is having no trouble getting tickets to contest in the next elections. This is the consequence of the success of two candidates Koneru Konappa and Allola Indrakaran Reddy, who contested on BSP tickets and won the election from Sirpur (T) and Nirmal Assembly Constituencies respectively in 2014, in the face of the TRS wave — BSP has a Dalit and BC base in the old Adilabad district.
BSP has a political advantage as it has supported the formation of a separate Telangana state and has the sympathy of Telangana agitators and the common people, as well as the Dalits and BCs’ vote bank.
BSP has good cadres and senior leaders in the Karimnagar district and they organise party activities regularly in the district.
Now, many leaders are looking for BSP tickets to contest the 2019 elections in the old Adilabad district.
Many new political parties including Telangana Jana Sena ( TJS) led by Prof. Kodandaram and Jana Sena by Pawan Kalyan, Dalit Bahujan Front are coming into the election arena this time, unlike in the past.
It is learnt that even ticket aspirants of Congress, TRS and BJP are also keeping their options open to contest with BSP tickets if they were denied party tickets by their respective parties in the 2019 elections in Adilabad.
Some senior leaders may change their loyalties to BSP.
The winning of two BSP candidates in 2014 elections gave hope and confidence to other leaders who wanted to contest in the next elections.
News is making the rounds in political circles that some senior political leaders were in touch with the state and district leaders of BSP in search of greener pastures and these leaders will come out only when they were denied party tickets.
It is learnt that, some senior political leaders who were not happy with the prospectives of their party in the next elections are also planning to change their loyalties to BSP just before the elections. This time also, BSP will contest in all the 119 elections without bothering too much about the result as they feel that making their presence felt among the people is important for the party’s future.
It is learnt that, a young political leader is planning to contest with a BSP ticket from Nirmal Assembly Constituency, like Indrakaran Reddy did in the last elections and it’s the same in Sirpur(T).
State convener of BSP Siddhartha Phule said they were making serious efforts to strengthen the party to emerge as a strong political force by the next elections in the state and there was good demand for BSP as many young leaders were looking for a bright political future with the BSP.
