Mysuru: Farmers crowd hospital to see Puttannaiah's body

Fans of farmer leader and Melkote MLA K.S. Puttannaiah, are reportedly flooding the JSS medical college to pay their last respects.

Mysuru: Fans of farmer leader and Melkote MLA K.S. Puttannaiah, are reportedly flooding the JSS medical college to pay their last respects. 

The body of Mr Puttannaiah, who breathed his last following a massive cardiac arrest on Sunday night, has been kept at JSS medical college as the family awaits the arrival of his two daughters who are in the USA. 

Those who paid their respects to the departed leader include actor turned politician and Congress MLA Ambareesh.

The actor politician also visited Ramya Mahendra hotel near the RTO Circle.  
Ramya Hotel is a favourite spot of CM Siddaramaiah too and was started  over three decades ago. It was a favourite with noted politicians including Mr S. Bangarappa, and star actor Dr Rajkumar among others.

City-Mysuru highway gets      
Centre’s nod  
l A day after Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi announced the project for six-laning of the Mysuru-Bengaluru National Highway-275, at the BJP rally in Mysuru on Monday, the  Cabinet Committee on Economic affairs gave its clearance to the project on Tuesday. Mysuru Kodagu MP Mr Pratap Simha stated this in a press release. The total cost of the project is over Rs 7000 Crores, according to National Highway Authority sources. They added, "The Union ministry of road transport and highways has already approved the project. And even the tender has been opened. But since the cost of the project crossed Rs 2000 Crores, it needed clearance of the CCEA. With this clearance, work on the project is  likely to begin soon," NHAI sources informed.
