Palair bypoll: Race for TRS ticket begins

The name of R&B minister Tummala Nageswara Rao is also doing rounds.

The issue of voting rights to NRIs is now being examined by an 11-member panel of ministers.

Khammam: With the EC notifying the Palair Assembly bypoll, names of possible candidates have started doing rounds.

Three of the “frontrunners” are said to be Tummala Yugandhar, DCCB chairman Muvva Vihay Babu and NRI Tatha Madhusudan. The name of R&B minister Tummala Nageswara Rao is also doing rounds.

Mr Yugandhar, son of Mr Nageswara Rao is actively making efforts to get the ticket, and is said to have begun parleys with mandal-level leaders to get their support.

Meanwhile, Mr Nageswara Rao told this newspaper that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision would be final. “Anybody can try, but the decision of KCR is final,” he said.
