Bengaluru: With just a day left for campaigning to draw to an end, former external affairs minister and BJP leader S M Krishna led the pack of his party leaders moving north to mobilize votes for candidates set to face the battle of ballots on April 23.
On Saturday, Mr Krishna addressed a rally organized in support of B Y Raghavendra, son of state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, in Thirthahalli, a Vokkaliga-dominated town. Incidentally, his wife Mrs Prema Krishna hails from Thirthahalli.
Other leaders of BJP—Union minister for chemicals and fertilizers, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Bangalore (South) candidate Tejasvi Surya, Bangalore (Central) candidate, P. C. Mohan, Udupi Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje campaigned for party candidates in Raichur, Davangere, Koppal and Chikkodi respectively.
Sources in the state unit of BJP said these candidates were asked to campaign in Mumbai Karnataka and Hyderabad Karnataka regions ahead of polls on April 23.
